Ryedale Walking Group on Whernside (2416') on 27th April 2008

Our weekend walks vary between seven and thirteen miles in length and our favourite areas are Ryedale, the North Yorkshire Moors, the Yorkshire Wolds, the Cleveland Hills and the Vale of York including the Howardian Hills. Most walks take place within 35 miles of Pickering but we also travel further afield occasionally on weekend breaks. We travel north, south, east and west and enjoy the beauty of our area to the full. We think that the social side of our walking group is important so whilst on our walks we often frequent tearooms, look in churches and at anything else of architectural interest. We have also been known to frequent fish and chip shops and even pubs! New members and visitors to the area are welcome to join us anytime. We are a non-profit making organisation but we ask for a small donation or modest annual sponsorship fee from our regular walkers to cover the few expenses that we have.
