Friday 7th May 2010

Ryedale Walking Group will present "An Evening with Alfred Wainwright" at Pickering Memorial Hall. This is a dramatic presentation by Wainwright lookalike John Burland of The Wainwright Society on the life of the famous walker and writer. John takes us on a journey through AW's life against a backdrop of Lakeland scenes.  We will hear about how the Lakeland Pictorial Guides were created and how and why AW conceived the Coast to Coast walk. Tickets are £5 and will be available from Trailblazer Outdoors in early April.  Proceeds from the event will go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team.
