Isle of Man Walking Festival Report - Weds 2nd July 2008
Our nine members returned safely from the Isle of Man Walking Festival last Saturday having had a calm crossing of the Irish Sea to Heysham. The trip across the previous Sunday in a Force 9 gale we won't mention! With views like these it's not surprising that some of us are planning to return in 2009, and are thinking about flying next time! Click the thumbnail to increase the size of the photo
Sat 28th June 2008 Whilst other members were returning from the Isle of Man Walking Festival Sam led a group of walkers from Chop Gate on a challenging walk on the west side of Bilsdale:(Click thumbnail for an enlarged view) Sat 14th June 2008 Fourteen walkers enjoyed an easy 8 mile walk around Slingsby and South Holme - a contrast from some of the more demanding walks of late.
We completed the walk by 1.30pm after the usual 9.00am Pickering Pool meet, leaving some of the group to enjoy the 60's weekend and classic car run through Pickering later that day! Thurs 12th June 2008 The Walking Britain Website now features some of our recent walks:
